HOW WE’RE RESPONDING TO COVID-19
To Our Valued Customers,
Courier Express is committed first and foremost to the health and well-being of our employees, contractors, customers, carriers, partners and loved ones. During this challenging time for our country and individual communities, we want to let you know Courier Express is fully operational and committed to ensuring the supply chain continues forward.
We are taking all necessary precautions in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. We are fully focused on prevention, containment and recovery, and will continue to provide our customers with the service they have come to expect from us.
We have been actively monitoring and assessing the COVID-19 situation and the impact to our industry, and we will continue to monitor Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updates daily and make any necessary adjustments to our business plan.
Our Human Resources Department is communicating regularly with employees across our footprint to advise of the CDC recommendations regarding washing of hands, and all other methods of prevention. Employees that don't feel well, or exhibit any symptoms associated with COVID-19 are being directed to stay home.
We are providing ongoing communication to our operators and independent contractors in the field to ensure full awareness of the situation and to make sure they are taking all precautionary measures to protect themselves as well as others.
We have implemented an Environmental Health Plan to routinely clean frequently touched surfaces and objects throughout the day. As well, high touch building surfaces and community areas are being sanitized each evening.
We have incorporated smart social distancing and are asking employees to cease shaking hands, sharing laptops, scanners, tablets, work stations and phones. We are also asking them to avoid gathering in groups whenever possible. To help slow the progression of the spread of the virus, employees whose work can be done off-site are working remotely.
Our recruiting efforts will continue without interruption, as we know supply chain needs will grow and driver absenteeism could increase. All new applicants and contractors are directed to apply via email or phone. Then, in person communication is limited to final stages of the onboarding process.
We anticipate the above actions will be in place through the foreseeable future. However, we are consistently monitoring developments so we can adjust our plans as needed to meet the overwhelming needs of the community, and our valued customers.
This is an unprecedented time for our industry, and Courier Express is committed to the safety of our operations, and the needs of our customers and communities. We take very seriously the responsibility our customers place upon us every day. To ensure the community supply chain remains intact, further resolution to this crisis is our mission during this difficult time.
